They archived it for several seconds. Maya said nothing. Rain tapped softly against the kitchen window in Jefferson Heights. Denise stood near the refrigerator, watching her daughter's face change as Lena spoke through the phone. Not relief.

Not yet. Something more fragile. Hope. What do you need? Maya asked.

Come to campus tomorrow morning, Lena said. And don't go alone. By 8:05 the next day, Riverton Community College looked almost peaceful. Sunlight reflected off the glass atrium. Students carried coffee toward morning classes.

A maintenance cart rolled across the courtyard. Nothing about the campus suggested that one person's reputation was being dismantled inside its administrative offices. Maya arrived with Denise. She was technically barred from non-essential campus spaces, but Daniel Hayes had arranged permission for her to enter the records office as part of the investigation. Lena was already waiting.

So was Daniel. He held a paper cup in one hand and looked as if he had slept even less than Maya. "You ready?" He asked. Maya nodded.

"No," Denise said. Everyone looked at her. Denise adjusted the strap of her purse, but we're going in anyway. For the first time that morning, Maya smiled. The media archive sat behind a restricted login inside Riverton's communications system.

Lena entered her authorized student work credentials while an information services employee supervised. Folders appeared by date. Student government events, orientation, forum recordings, promotional clips. Evan's name appeared repeatedly in upload histories. Lena scrolled there.

A folder marked RAW SGA media. The technician opened it. Dozens of files populated the screen. Mia's stomach tightened. The first clip showed the orientation table.

Tyler leaning toward Maya, his joke about financial aid. Mason laughing, Evan turning the camera after Mia walked away. Then Tyler's voice clear and amused. She thinks she's too good to react. Another clip.

The hallway outside accounting class. Mason stepping into Maya's path. Maya moving left. Mason moving left. Evan laughing behind the camera.

Then Mason's shoulder hitting hers. The public post had never included that part. Maya looked away. Denise reached for her hand. The next file showed the aftermath of the student government forum.

Tyler moved closer. You really have a problem with me, don't you? Maya answered exactly as she remembered. I want you to leave me alone. So, what happens if I don't?

The public version jumped there. The archive did not. Maya's full answer came next. Nothing happens. I walk away.

No threat. No ambiguity. Just the sentence Tyler had removed. Denise inhaled sharply. Daniel's jaw tightened.
