Sit down. But the damage was done. Others were listening. Others were questioning. At the bar, a man in a tailored suit scoffed, muttering to anyone near him, "Policy is policy.

If she doesn't fit, she doesn't fit." But his words didn't carry the same authority anymore. The younger attendant stepped forward again, doubling down. She's wasting everyone's time. Real clients need these seats.

We can't have imposters draining resources. A murmur rose through the lounge, louder this time. Phones tilted higher. Screens glowed brighter. What began as whispers was now a chorus of disbelief.

Still, Maya sat unmoved, her eyes steady, her silence like a mirror reflecting every word back at them. The supervisor raised his voice to its peak, needing the final blow. You're not a client. You're a fraud. And as long as I stand here, you will not be served."

The declaration slammed across the lounge like a gavl. But it wasn't judgment. It was exposure. Because now the room wasn't only watching her, they were watching him. watching the venom in his voice, the cracks in his authority, the prejudice he couldn't disguise as policy. And while he believed he had stripped her dignity, Maya knew the opposite was true.

Every insult was a rope he tied around his own neck. Every accusation was a step closer to his own downfall. She didn't need to speak. Not yet. The silence was still hers.

The room had already soured, but the supervisor wasn't finished. He needed a spectacle. He snatched the boarding pass off Maya's table with a flourish. the paper crumpling between his fingers. "This isn't valid," he declared, voice booming. "And I'll prove it."

With deliberate cruelty, he tore the ticket down the middle. The soundpaper ripping was louder than it should have been, sharp as a whip crack. Passengers gasped. Someone cursed under their breath. The shredded pass fluttered to the marble floor at Mia's feet, a mockery of belonging.

The older attendant clapped her hands together, satisfied. There, no proof, no service. She kicked the torn pieces lightly with the toe of her shoe as though brushing away dirt. The young man filming hissed. They really did that.

Oh my god. His lens didn't waver. Maya still hadn't moved. Not a flinch, not a tremor. She sat as though rooted to the earth itself.

Silence pressing heavier by the second, but the humiliation wasn't done. The younger attendant snatched her leather bag from the adjacent seat and dropped it onto the floor. The thud echoed across the lounge, followed by her cold words. Security can search this. Probably fake credentials inside.

Phones rose higher. The mother with the toddler shielded her child's ears. A college student muttered, "This is insane." His own camera now recording. The supervisor didn't care.

He stroed to the landline at the counter, his finger stabbing the keypad. This is management. I need security at the premium lounge immediately. Possible trespasser. possible fraud, escalate priority. His voice was sharp, urgent, designed for everyone in the room to hear, to paint her as threat.
