Nearby passengers stirred. A young man discreetly raised his phone, recording. A woman across the aisle whispered in disbelief. The humiliation wasn’t private anymore. It was public, suffocating, inescapable.
The pregnant passenger straightened her back, her voice trembling but unyielding. “I will not risk my child’s safety. Get me the captain or another crew member.” The attendant’s face flushed crimson, her authority openly challenged. And then it happened so fast it shocked even her. Her hand lashed out.
The crack of palm against cheek split the silence like thunder. The cabin gasped. The woman staggered back into her seat, clutching her face, her eyes wide with shock. Pain burned across her skin, but it was nothing compared to the deeper sting. She had been struck, assaulted, humiliated in front of everyone while carrying her child.
