Zaria landed one short counter.
Mason staggered.
She stopped.
He did not.
He rushed again.
Zaria backed toward the side of the bus.
Mason swung.
She leaned away.
Another strike came.
Zaria answered.
The crowd widened around them.
Someone shouted that security was coming.
Mason kept moving forward.
At one point, Zaria shoved him backward and had nearly six feet of open pavement between them.
“Stay there.”
Mason looked around.
Too many phones.
Too many students.
Too many people seeing him fail to control what had started as his humiliation of someone else.
He charged again.
Zaria pivoted outside the attack.
Mason turned.
He came one final time.
This time Zaria planted her weight and drove a hard defensive kick forward.
Mason stumbled backward.
His legs tangled.
He hit the asphalt flat on his back.
Silence.
Zaria stayed where she was.
Mason did not immediately stand.
She lowered her hands.
Then she walked toward her backpack.
Tessa came closer.
“You okay?”
Zaria nodded.
Her hands were shaking.
She lifted the bag onto one shoulder.
Mason’s friends moved toward him.
Zaria looked at nobody else.
She walked away.
By the time administrators reached the transportation loop, five separate videos already existed. The shortest began during the fight and showed only Zaria landing the final kick. The longest started before she exited the bus.
That recording changed everything.
It showed Mason following her.
The shove.
The fall.
The laughter.
Zaria walking away.
Mason following.
The first punch.
