She saw him.

She also saw the candy-bar shape sticking out of his hoodie.

Thomas leaned closer.

“Did she notice?”

Andre nodded.

“Watch.”

Rebecca stopped Connor.

Reached into the hoodie.

Pulled out one candy bar.

For a moment, Thomas assumed she was going to march him back to the display.

Instead, Rebecca opened the wrapper.

Took a bite.

Handed the rest to Connor.

Then looked around.

She folded the empty wrapper.

Walked to the paper-goods aisle.

And pushed it behind a row of paper towels.

Thomas stared at the monitor.

“Did she just help him hide that?”

Andre did not answer immediately.

He switched camera angles.

“That isn’t the part that worries me most.”

At 3:12, Sophie opened another snack bag.

Rebecca took it away.

Thomas nodded.

“Finally.”

Then Rebecca walked three steps.

Looked around.

And placed the half-empty package inside another customer’s unattended shopping basket.

Thomas rubbed his forehead.

“You have to be kidding.”

“There’s more.”

Andre changed cameras.

At 3:14, Mason kicked a small glass jar from a lower shelf.

It shattered.

Rebecca looked down.

Then looked around.

No employee nearby.

She pushed the cart forward.

Twenty seconds later, a father pushing a toddler entered the aisle and stopped just inches before the stroller wheels reached broken glass.

He called an employee.

Andre paused the footage.

Thomas shook his head.

“What else?”

Andre looked at him.

“The reason I called you.”

He opened footage from the produce section.

Time stamp: 2:51.

Rebecca stood beside an unattended promotional display containing prepaid cards.

Restaurant cards.

Gaming cards.

Visa cards.

Mason reached toward them.

Rebecca slapped his hand away.

Then she looked around.

Picked up six cards.

Placed them beneath her handbag inside the shopping cart.

Thomas frowned.

“They aren’t worth anything until activation.”

“I know.”

Andre advanced the recording.

At 3:02, Rebecca entered the greeting-card aisle.

She removed the stack.

Three cards returned to a shelf.

Three disappeared.

Thomas leaned forward.

“Where?”

Andre switched cameras.

A wider angle showed Rebecca opening her handbag.

The three cards went inside.

Thomas rubbed his chin.

“Could be absentminded.”

“Could be.”

Andre switched to another camera.

“Then look at this.”

Rebecca’s handbag sat partially open inside the cart.

Mason reached inside.

He pulled out a small blue tool.

Thomas recognized it as a plastic scraper used for removing adhesive labels.

Rebecca immediately snatched it away.

Then something else became visible.

A sheet of bright yellow stickers.

Andre placed a physical evidence bag on the desk.

Inside sat one matching yellow label.
